I never used the Lt helm, all it did was make me take more damage.
The only thing that changed with the wurm AI that I can tell is that they attack instead of only casting spells.

I dunno about the wurms now, I have mixed feelings.... with dual runs it seems like they are np, but solo.... i used to have about 97.5% success rate..
dropped to about 75%.. seems like I can't get them off my tail sometimes

I have ran this 10 times between last night and today. The "update" did not do anything to change the run. I had regular spawns, chaser spawns, and an easy spawn. If there was supposed to be an update on their AI I don't really notice it.
If you success rate dropped 20% then you had better start running it again for practice. I had not ran this in a month and the 2 times that I did it solo I did not have a problem.

I think like posted above that the AI was maybe just making them fight better. The other update for the LT. Helm really hurt my W/E running. The freeze's used to be easy to get through but now they last that little bit longer and it is causing a few problems. I refuse to have to go back to W/Mo running :P
I spose I'd better do a few runs tonight I am kind of short on cash

Undead, could it possibly be because you are used to having the Lt helm to make the run?

Nah I got used to it too and I still use it, ran it 3 times now since update, no problems whatsoever, 2 regular spawns, one hard one (3 groups of pinesouls + siege golems at the end of lornars, all non-avoidable...)
made it past all three, no changes on the worms I think (had one short chaser worm)

I rarely run anymore, and almost never solo since there are now several Wa/Mos that have Ascended in my guild just for Droks running (I've become our unofficial trainer). Like its been said, I make more money farming shells than I would with a bunch of 2k no paying scammers who are barely worth the hassle to report. Like most, I got into running more to prove to myself that I could and "for something to DO" when farming became too mind numbing to stand.
Sk8tborderx...how to put this. Welcome to the McDonalds Mentality. When GW was new, Droks runners were the Elite; the best of the best. But--thanks in no small part to guides like this one--everyone now feels like they can get into it. But they aren't as good (having a tendency to die when spawns aren’t “just right”) so they lower the price. There are more runners running Droks, so they charge less to compete.
And people pay them; Angus beef or soy meat, both do the job (presumably...eventually). Droks is a buyers market now.
And we created them. We create the very people we rail against, exacerbate the problem by freely sharing what we know so they can use it--or exploit it--to their own benefit. I don’t regret that, and I hope no one else who contributes to this guide—or any other—ever does. But expect it; accept it.
|
Ah I remember those days. People were paying me 10k per person to rush them to Droks. Fun, fun.

Well i was using it, now I use my ascolon helm and I find the extra point in tactics and the extra armor works so much better than the LT helm
and my success rate is back to where it belongs

I have always used the alscalon helm for running, I like the +1 to tact. (It also looks great with 15k glads).

Who knew you were into fashion.
Sk8borderx is a different kind of runner IMO. No mending and no Lt helm. He does a great job. Like I said in the OP this run is about skill more than skill set or armor. If you know the run inside out you will not have a problem with the updates.
Has anyone placed deflect arrows on their skill bar since the update?
It might have some uses {not on a Droks run} in heavy archer areas.

I used to like the LT helm.... but who runs with mending.... at least not for forge run.... the only enchantment I ever put up is Holy Veil... and the ascolon helm owns now
I use the following..
1) Holy Veil
2) Smite Hex
3) Purge Conditions
4) Endure Pain
5) Balanced Stance
6) Charge
7) Sprint
8) Healing Sig
Strength 13
Tactics 14

I still run with mending. I am very sure that I know what the hell I am doing also. There are 2 places to use mending. Troll Cave and up and down the hill outside of them. No need to remove any hex there.
The other place is the entire rest of the run other than dreds drift where I use 0 enchants.
While it is very possible to make Snakes Dance without mending (should be able to do it at 60 Dp without) why not use it. There is 0 need for 2 hex remove skills. I use it because there is nothing else that benifits me.

I have, before the update, when I started running, I ran myself trough maguuma, I used it to avoid getting big hits from maguuma spiders and centaurs.
But then again, I was w/me back then ^_^, when I got to w/r I removed that skill from my list, haven't touched it since, but its sure a nice filler stance (if you have room and want to be in stance all the time ^_^)
Or if you are going to farm devourers

And why not? Mending has its uses. Personally I use breeze instead, for burst healing or while jogging/in aggro, but unlike breeze, mending has the benefit of allowing you to recover to ur max energy while consistantly providing the regen. Its a trade off.
P.S. I dun care.. still like the LT helm

thats why the was there :P
no one in the right mind farms devourers, really if you solo them they dont drop goldies (got one 1 in like 50 devourers) <--- oh that proves im not in the right mind ^_^
Btw, I still use the lt helmet, works fine... (don't need another helmet or so to keep running consistent, its really more about the skill..)
btw, I hope they make the droks run harder soon, prices going to low :P

no, they made it easier
Yesterday I tried lornars 9 times, made 8 of them with ease, 1 had a spawn with lovely 3 groups of siege golems clustered...still made it though.
I made it past the worm areas in lornars without using balance or charge... only sprint...
I made it 2 times with my r/w out of 2 tries...
Today I'm going to try and do it walking backward... (dolyaks sig ftw:P)

I have done this run over 500 times and solo snake all the time and have never seen a wurm there. Could it be from the update?
